LST 1150, later named USS Sutter County, served in 1945-1946 with a U.S. Coast Guard crew. A reunion will be held in Indianapolis in July with Park County (LST 1077) and Litchfield County (LST 901). USS Tullibee SSN-597 Reunion
|
Hello Shipmates!
We are all set for the Tullibee reunion! The finalized dates have been established as 9-12 July 2009, and the event will take place in the Groton area.
The tentative agenda looks like this:
Thursday PM - Drinks and social time at Subvets
Friday AM - Museum Tour; Sub base tour, Wreath ceremony at Tullibee (SS-284) memorial
Friday PM - Reunion Dinner 6 PM - 10 PM (Location TBA)
Saturday Morning - Boat Tour (Boat to be determined and upon availability)
Saturday mid-morning - Golf for those interested (male and female)
Saturday afternoon and evening - "form you own party." Free time, watch fireworks, or organize small groups with shipmates from your specific crew
Sunday AM - Brunch at Subvets for anyone interested.

By the way, I am the webmaster for a webpage sponsored by USSVI (Sub Vets). USS Holland As-32 Reunion
|
For reservations, you have two options:
(1) On the Holland website, go to the reunion link, click on the button ?Make Reservation?, this will take you to the on-line national Hilton reservation web page for the USS Holland , it is a secured web page. Simple.
(2) Call their toll free number at 1-800-445-8667. Make sure that you mention to the reservationist that you are with the group USS Holland, so you can receive the $99.00 rate.
King or Double beds are $99 and the rate is good 3 days before the reunion and 3 days after the reunion dates.
From Airport to Concord Transportation: Upon arriving at your destination either: San Francisco or Oakland Airports, You will need to catch the Bay Area Rapid Transit - BART Train to Concord. The airport BART station is located on the Departures level of the San Francisco International Terminal. BART is a 104-mile, automated rapid transit system which has 43 stations on five lines. BART trains run on most lines from 4 am to midnight Monday through Friday, 6 am to midnight Saturdays and 8 am to midnight on Sundays. Make sure that you get on the Yellow Line train. Bart runs every 15 minutes. One way ticket from San Francisco Airport to Concord is $7.40 one way. Upon arrival at Concord please call the Concord Hilton for pick up at 925-937-4744.

BART offers various discounts ranging from 6.25% to 62.5%. BART fares are set with a mileage-based formula; therefore time-based passes (e.g., weekly or monthly) are not available.

12:00n Arrival ? Please check in with our Reunion Representative in the Lobby to receive your reunion information package, followed by checking in at the hotel front desk. The Association officers await your arrival in the Hospitality Room. Come in and relax in the comfort and privacy of our hospitality room where you will find coffee and soft drinks. Snacks will be available for everyone?s munching pleasure. It?s the perfect place to greet old friends, especially those that you haven*t seen in years, to meet shipmates you didn?t know, to meet people who served at a different time but share the ship?s heritage.
Private alcoholic beverages are allowed in the hospitality room.
6:30 PM: Welcome reception begins. This is the first planned activity of the reunion. USS Holland AS-32 Association President Joe Garcia will have a few welcomes remarks and preview of the reunion activities in the Park Room.
7:00 PM: A Dinner / Cocktail Party
*A well planned for your enjoyment, and the socializing can begin. This will be a fun evening in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Dress for the reception is casual. 9:00am - 3:00pm: A San Francisco Tour gived by Coach America
Whether you only have a couple of hours or a full day to spend with us, rest assured you are touring with the local experts, Gray Line, known in San Francisco and throughout the world for quality sightseeing experiences. Join us and explore this most culturally diverse and beautiful of cities. Your guided journey will highlight famous landmarks and familiarize you with the unique sociology of San Francisco. Narrative includes Victorian houses, Civic Center, Union Square, Nob Hill, Cable Cars, Chinatown, North Beach, Coit Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, Marina District, Palace of Fine Arts, The Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Bridge and more.

**** Following dinner we?ll have a little self-entertainment, a game known by many names and played with many variations. We?ll do it this way. Each couple (or single) is asked to bring a small gift (not more than $25.00, but not a gag gift either) item representative of your hometown or home state; a piece of pottery, jewelry, hand-made-craft, etc. from a local artist, or something with your sports team logo on it, a jug of Vermont or NY maple syrup, you get the idea! Be sure to gift wrap your item and include your name. When you ?turn in? your item, you?ll be given two tickets, one to be placed in the ?drawing-jar? and one to keep. After all items are turned in, the first ticket will be drawn and the lucky ticket holder will receive one of the randomly selected items from the gift table. He/she must unwrap and display the gift for all to see; then a second ticket will be drawn. The second winner will be able to take an unopened gift from the table, or take the first winner?s gift whichever he chooses. If the first winner?s gift is taken, then he gets an unopened gift from the table. Then the third ticket will be drawn and so on. To save time, each gift can change hands only once. 10:00am - 12:00n - The USS Holland AS-32 Tour at Suisun Bay Fleet Reserve
This will be the Tour of All Tours. The tour that you?ll never gona forgets. We will travel up to Martinez, California to the Bayview Charter Boat Tour to embark up the channel to Suisun Bay Fleet Reserve to pay our last respects to the ship that gave us all of the fond memories that we had shared at many reunion. This will be a 1 to 2 hour boat tour. There you will also see the great battleship USS Iowa BB-61 moored there. We will be conducting a Memorial Service along side of her before we head back. We promise that this tour will remain in your hearts and mind forever. This event, plus candid shots of the reunion will be produced on a DVD and sold separately.
Cost per person is $30.00
The hospitality room will close during the Tour.
3:00 PM: Business Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Park Room. .We have a guest speaker representing the Legislative Program Healthcare Advisor Fleet Reserve Association on issues from Capitol Hill. Afterward we will conduct our general business meeting concerning the Association. Then the Association Officers will table the next 2 reunion sites for a vote.
6:00 PM: Pre-dinner Cocktail hour and photo session. Be sure to have your photo taken for inclusion in the 2009 Reunion. Guest Speaker Captain R.D. Rawlins, Commanding Officer USS Holland AS-32.
A Memory Book of the reunion will be sold. It will be mailed to you after the reunion and the photos are processed. Cost of Memory Book is $30.00
7:00 PM: The USS Holland AS-32 Banquet. Enjoy your last night in a more formal atmosphere. Coat and tie recommended for the gentlemen and corresponding dress for the ladies. If you can still wear a complete and correct uniform, please do. Retirees are especially encouraged to do so. The Guest Speaker for this event will no other than the Decommissioning Captain J.W.Winney of the USS Holland AS-32.The following are the entries: Choice of One

Memorial Service
Following breakfast we will conduct our Memorial Service. The Invocation will be given by the Commanding Officer of the USS Holland AS-32 Captain R.D. Rawlins (1969-1971) followed by the Memorial invocation given by our Association Chaplain Pastor Robert Prezioso. The memorial service will honor those who have served on the USS Holland and that have gone to the eternal life. On the conclusion of the Memorial service we will say our farewell to one another, hugs, and tears are authorized. We are moved beyond the hand-shaking stage.
